-Why is that the people close to u almost invariably move away at some point or the other?
This is not a generalisation but has happened so many times in my case thats its almost become a pattern..
You've shared your dreams,happiness,laughter et all and yet one fine day u find u're alone..things will never be the same..
The daily banter,opinions,raillery..nothing remains ..
As ur pals go after greener pastures what is it that still lingers on?
Memories - yes
But I guess its much deeper than that - a sense of gratitude for whatever little time your paths crossed.

It is definitely true that when you get really close to people, you hope that the situation will remain the same forever. But that hope just remains as a hope!! You start feeling disappointed when the people close to you start moving on in life in a different path. But you will never be left alone...it is upto the individuals to still keep in touch, meet up, etc.., to keep that relationship fresh and full of life...So even though the number of hours you are in contact with them reduces, the depth of the relationship will still keep the bond intact.

Mani, its true that the people we do get close to, do not remain with us forever. It is something we do feel sad about. But it is true that distance does not diminish the depth of feelings for one another. It takes time to build good relationships and once a good one is built, it does not break away easily too.

well...i look at it this way,
u had a lot of good memories with ur frnz..for wat reason? bcoz they were wat they are...
now, if they r going away, they wil get close to someone else...don't u want tat someone else to also have their share of good memories?:)...
@Ani : Yes what u say is very much true. It all depends on the individuals to take the initiative n make the small effort needed to stay in touch. Sadly this tends to fade away with the passage of time and changing priorities..
@Chum : Lets hope that this is indeed in the case! Do agree that once a good relationship is built its difficult to break away easily..
